Departure to Hong Kong - Tuesday, 24 March

I checked in my suitcase, passed security checks and identity checks, and now I'm waiting at the boarding gate to leave Hong Kong from Madrid Airport this morning with a direct flight for 3 months for a research internship at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for my PhD.

Arrival in Hong Kong + Arrival at University and discovery of the city - Wednesday, 25 March
The plane just landed in Hong Kong. It's 7:50 local time.
After taking the train to the centre of Hong Kong, I went directly to the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong (PolyU) to present all the necessary documents.

Subsequently, a colleague from the research team gave me the page of the research project KCube so that I could understand what they were doing and become familiar with the topic, then he gave me a tour of the university campus. Later, he accompanied me to the bank so that I could open my bank account in Hong Kong to be able to receive the salary these 3 months but I am missing a proof of domicile so I have to wait to receive the letter to the apartment, then since I only had my Revolut card on Apple Pay, I tried to withdraw money but it didn't work. But I still managed to buy bananas in a supermarket thanks to ,my contactless Apple Pay card.

Later, I also managed to pay for my meal thanks to contactless Apple Pay card and the meal was very good.

Then I attended a lecture on AI in education, then my colleague told me to rest on my way back to the apartment I had booked for the next 3 months.

But when I get there, I can't open the suitcase, even trying all the combinations.

Opening the suitcase Thursday, 26 March
I went to college after doing the laundry of my clothes that I wore the day before, and then I tried to see the collegue at the university so that he would give me leads to try to open it, so he left me a screwdriver and a hammer telling me that the cadena gear was probably broken and that by kicking around I would surely succeed in opening it. So I tried on my way home at night, and I actually managed to open it with these tools.

Discovery of the City - Weekend
I went to pray a Way of the Cross in English at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church closest to the apartment after Friday.

These first days in Hong Kong are going very well! Today, I visited Hong Kong by walking around the city starting with a pagoda and a park, then I went to the cathedral.

I then visited a zoological park, then climbed up a tower in a park before returning to the apartment.

Finally I went up to Dalton School for Palm Mass.

Recording songs in the apartment + Meals with a friend of the apartment - Sunday, 29 March
I got up late the next day and continued recording the French version of the songs of Hakuna Group Music as my apostolate to serve Christ and to help Francophones pray with the songs in their tongue, then in the evening I ate pizza with a roommate from the apartment.

Reading scientific articles - Thursday 26, Friday 27, Monday 30, Tuesday 31 March and Wednesday 1 April

In the last few days, after taking the subway, I learned a lot about the project that I joined at the PolyU University in Hong Kong. I have met with some colleagues from the faculty team and have been able to discover the research project in which I will be participating in the coming months by reading the scientific articles of the research team, which is really exciting and to which I learn a lot!
Discovery of a recording studio at the University's library - Monday, March 30
After my work this week, I recorded in a recording studio of the University of Hong Kong the songs of the album " Passion" in French by Hakuna Group Music, so that I could accompany Jesus in French on the way to Calvary on Good Friday.

Opening of bank account - Tuesday, 31 March
I was at the bank all morning after I received the letter the day before to get to open the account, when I finally managed to open it, I was just missing cash to put on it or a check so they could finalize opening the account, so I went to the university to get the March paycheck, then I went back to the bank to finally get my Hong Kong bank card and finally be able to withdraw money.
Meeting with the research team + Bureau in the research lab - Thursday, 2 April

After continuing to read the articles of the research team, I had a meeting with the entire online research team that allowed me to meet virtually all the team members, discover the work in progress, the next steps and where I will be able to help within the research topic.
Then I could have an office in one of the faculty research labs and they installed a fixed PC for me to work well.
